I don't know where the name came from exactly. This boat was originally owned by Dean Mulder in Annapolis and was named "Wildfire". He donated her to the St. Mary's sailing program. Skip Zanhiser and John Cook in Solomons. They refitted her and renamed her to "Truculent Turtle" but I don't know why - I always assumed it was because these boats look like turtles, but they're aggressive winners.
