Any idea how the boat got its name?

I was at a party in Alex last night with some of the Marina crowd and the Turtle had won its class that day. I asked Joe, the owner, where the name came from because I am an aerospace/defense journo and "Truculent Turtle" was originally the name of a Lockheed P2V Navy patrol bomber that set a distance record in 1946 (11500 miles from Perth to Columbus, OH).

Oddly enough the airplane came to be known as "Truculent Turtle" although for the record flight the name on the nose was "The Turtle".
